Overview

Vauld requested to review the user experience of the wallets page, and a redesign. The wallets page helps the user keep track of their assets and is an avenue for them to deposit, send/receive, or take loans against their assets.

Understanding the user:

Part I: Contextual Inquiry I gathered a few insights by asking some questions to crypto investors I happen to know personally and this helped me understand their needs from a crypto wallet and the extent of its importance in their average daily session. Some of these questions looked like: 1. How long have you been investing in cryptocurrencies? 2. How many cryptocurrencies have there been on your portfolio totally? 3. What are your expectations from a crypto wallet? 4. How many hours do you spend on your crypto apps/wallets daily? 5. What do you dislike the most in crypto wallets? - - Part II: Insights Analysis The most common or notable use cases I received relevant to our objective were: • I've invested for a year or two and want to continue for a few more. • I want to have multiple sources of income. • I want to know all the opportunities to earn crypto passively. • I want a consolidation of all my assets in my wallet. • It's hard to track multiple currencies in a single page. • I'm not able to track the performing value of my wallet balance. • I find it hard to convert most coins to my currency of choice. • I'm not fond of the high fees that come from swapping/converting.

Future Work > Testing

So, now that we have our hypothesis taking shape, the last but never the least part of this exercise should be to navigate through how we are to test this when the prototypes are ready: Part I - A/B testing: Show a few subjects both the current Wallet page as well as the new prototype and judge based on: • First impressions on new prototype • What features they check out and for how long • Redundancy/negligence of certain features Part II - Usability testing: Show other subjects the new prototype without context and assign the following tasks: 1. Get to the page where you see the break-down of your assets 2. Get to the page where you can take loans & earn passive income 3. Check your transaction history Part III - Analysis: How do we reflect on our findings? Our objective is to note: • If the consolidated balance is useful for the user or not • If they would require the distribution chart in the wallets page • If the quick options being used instead of the buttons on the crypto cards • If the filters are necessary over the tags
